When you call the office you will be greeted by an automated answering device. Please listen to the options carefully. You may stay on the line and one of the assistants will answer. The options will direct you to the appointment secretary, physicians voice mail, billing department, or prescription refill area. Please have paper and pencil available so that you may take down the information given to you by the secretary.

Our neurologists participate in most HMO's, PPO's, Medicaid, Medicare, and locally available insurance plans. If referrals are required by your plan, you are expected to request them from your Primary Care Provider. Our office staff can explain this process to you if necessary.

 

It is helpful to bring notes about your condition with you and the names of your present and previous medications. It is also important to bring pertinent medial records, X-Rays, Scans, etc. with you to help in the consultation.

Office hours are 8:30 to noon and 1:00 to 5:00 Monday through Friday. The office closes for lunch at noon and the phones are forwarded to the answering service. Our last appointment of the day is at 4:30. Patients are seen by appointment only. Referrals are required at the time of appointment. Co-payments are also due at the time of the appointment. We try to see all patients on time, and we ask that you extend the same courtesy to us. 48 hours cancellation notice is required.

Insurance Information:

Each of us is a participating provider in almost all of the HMO's and PPO's in the area. If your plan requires a co-pay for office visits, we do ask that you pay it at the time of each visit. If your plan requires referrals for visits to specialists, it is your responsibility to obtain the referral from your primary care physician well in advance of the visit. We ask you to call our office 3 days prior to your appointment to confirm that we have your referral in place to cover the visit.

If you have an indemnity insurance plan, we will submit claims directly to your insurance company as a courtesy to you. Please be aware that the bill is ultimately your responsibility, and that if there is a problem with the insurance company we will expect you to pay the bill and deal with the company yourself. We will only bill you directly if the insurer has not paid us within 45 days. We do ask that you pay us at the time of the visit if you know that you have not met your insurance deductible.
